Frequently Asked Questions

ARE YOU STATE LICENSED & INSURED?

YES. We are a properly licensed. We are licensed as contractors in Oregon CCB #200701.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Most maintenance projects take 2 days. Day one is minor repairs, cleaning and brightening. Day two is the final staining and sealing.

HOW DOES SCHEDULING WORK?

Once the deposit is made, your invoice number will be added to the queue. As the staining is weather dependent, we try and avoid scheduling a date more than a week out. We send out a weekly email letting people know where we are in the queue, and once you are about a week out, you will get a message that you have been scheduled. Pay attention as those dates may still change as the weather is so unpredictable (Thanks PNW).

DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARD?

It’s 2020, of course we do! We can take payment by phone, you can submit payment Online through the invoice we provide, or you can send in a check. Cash is okay as well.

YOU REALLY BRING THE COLOR BACK?

Yes we do! Most people don’t understand that their deck and fence need to be sealed once a year, and cleaned twice a year. This will not only keep it looking pretty year round, but it will also extend the life substantially.

WHATS YOUR FAVORITE DECKING?

I really like Ipe wood. It has such a nice natural look with different colors that looks really good together. If not maintained though, it turns gray after a year or two. For low maintenance, definitely go with a composite like Trex Deck

WHAT SIZE DECK BOARDS ARE BEST?

2×4 – You needing more fasteners, have more gaps, spending longer installing and maintaining. But the boards themselves are cheaper.

2×8 – These larger boards are more prone to cup, curl, and twist. They look great, but the weather is not nice to it.

6” – 5/4 and larger work best. If you go 2×6, you can space your joists farther apart, but then if you ever re-deck, you won’t be able to use a thinner option.

WHY SHOULD WE CHOOSE YOU?

Because you took the time to read this whole FAQ and we offer a competitive price with a superior customer experience. If any of that isn’t true, then go with the other guys.
